About Us

The California Association of Retail Tobacconists Inc. (CART) was incorporated in the state of California on November 16, 1998 and is a non profit mutual benefit corporation.

CART is organized, administered and operated exclusively to receive, administer and expend funds to promote and represent the common business interests of and improve the business conditions among members of the retail tobacconists of California, within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or corresponding provisions of any subsequent federal tax laws.

Retail Tobacconists may join the Association by paying an annual membership fee of $100.00. Manufacturers and/or Distributors may join the Association as a Special Member for an annual membership fee of $500.00. Friends of the Retail Tobacconists can make contributions to the Association for a minimum contribution of $10.00.

Voting rights are limited to the retail tobacconists of the Association. Members and/or can make additional contributions to the Association from time to time to assist the Association in fulfilling its stated goals and objective.
